History and Vision

The school is a privately managed institution run under the auspices of the Shabbir Memorial Education Society a registered body. This institution was established by a group of professionals belonging to different fields of specialization with the vision of providing innovative, quality educational facilities particularly for minorities and economically weaker sections of the society. The foundation stone of the school was laid by late Mr. Saiyid Hamid, former Vice-Chancellor of A.M.U. and Chancellor Jamia Hamdard, Delhi in November, 1997.

Aligarh Modern School forms the core of the activities of the society. As the school grows the other programmes of the society will also be strengthened.

School Profile

Aligarh Modern School was granted affiliation up to Senior Secondary level with Science and Commerce Streams by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), which is the largest educational board in the country.

The school has been granted a minority education institution in 2012 by National Commission of Minority Educational institutions which strengthens our resolve to especially help the educational needs of our children.

Originally the primary school was located at the old campus at Dhoerra, Aligarh on a smaller plot of land. This plot of land has a total built up area of 638.6 m2. The main campus of the school has come up in a phased manner on a  larger plot of land measuring 18400 SqM located 7 k.m. away form the city center on Anoopshahar Road. This land has been acquired keeping in view the future needs of the school and also to fulfil the norms of the CBSE.

A total of 3211.2 SqM covered area of the First Phase of the new campus at Anoopshahar Road has already been constructed along with the boundary wall costing about Rs. 1,50,40,000. The project at the new campus is summarized as follows. Phase 2 has been taken up as we are also to mobilize resources and save for our growth. Once Phase 2 is completed, this campus will ultimately possess all the modern educational  and co-curricular facilities including a hostel for residence.

Additional construction of Phase 2 consists of three class rooms having a covered area of 3211.2 SqM have been constructed. Also lab equipments, computers and furniture to the cost of Rs. 5,00,000.00 has been added recently.
